Mr. Guzman is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Corporate Finance business and Financial Services Group, focused on the insurance sector. Since joining Houlihan Lokey, selected transactions Mr. Guzman has advised on include Title Guaranty of Hawaii’s majority sale to Fidelity National Financial, CIFG’s sale to Assured Guaranty, and the sale of Superior Vision Corp. He is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey in 2015, Mr. Guzman was a Vice President at Blackstone Advisory Partners, executing transactions for clients across the financial services sector, including Aviva PLC’s sale of River Road Asset Management, LLC; Greenoaks Global Holdings Ltd.’s insurance company capitalization; Dynamics Inc.’s capital raise; and NYSE Euronext Inc.’s sale to Intercontinental Exchange, Inc.
Before joining Blackstone in 2011, Mr. Guzman worked in the Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions Group for Prudential Financial, where he executed multiple transactions internally, including Prudential’s acquisition of AIG Star and AIG Edison life insurance in Japan; the sale of Prudential’s retail brokerage joint-venture stake to Wells Fargo; and the sale of Bache Global Commodities.
Mr. Guzman began his investment banking career as an Associate in Bear Stearns’ Financial Institutions Group. Prior to investment banking, Mr. Guzman worked in the Audit and Assurance Services practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he covered clients in the nonprofit and financial services sectors.
Mr. Guzman holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MBA with concentrations in Corporate Finance and Law & Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
