Mr. Abelow is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Sponsors Group and a senior member of the firm’s Private Equity practice. He is also a member of Houlihan Lokey’s Management Committee. Mr. Abelow joined the firm in 2001 and is based in the New York office.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Abelow was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank and a Vice President at J.P. Morgan. He started his career as a corporate attorney at the firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell. Over the course of his career, Mr. Abelow has worked on more than 300 closed transactions involving more than 40 discrete private equity firms. He has been named one of the top young bankers on Wall Street by periodicals including Investment Dealers’ Digest, Dealmaker, and The New York Times.
Mr. Abelow has served on the boards of a number of philanthropic and civic organizations, including the New York Landmarks Conservancy and The Buckley School. He served as an advisory director of The Deal.
Mr. Abelow is a magna cum laude graduate of Columbia College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law, where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
