Mr. Sakai is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Corporate Finance business. He has more than two decades of M&A advisory experience. Mr. Sakai has advised on an array of M&A transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, minority investments, LBOs, and takeover defenses for clients in various industries. He is based in the firm’s Tokyo office.
Previously, Mr. Sakai was Head of the Cross-Border & Special Solutions team at GCA Corporation, which was acquired by Houlihan Lokey in 2021. Prior to GCA, he was an Executive Director at UBS Investment Bank, where he advised both domestic and global clients. Mr. Sakai started his career in 1997 as a CPA at PwC, where he provided assurance service to international clients. Mr. Sakai also worked in the Transaction Services department at PwC, providing financial due diligence and valuation services to Japanese clients.
Mr. Sakai holds a B.A. in French Literature from Waseda University.
