Mr. Kushin is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Transaction Opinions and Board Advisory Services practices. He has more than two decades of experience in providing fairness opinions, solvency opinions, debt opinions, and business valuations for public and private companies and their boards of directors. Mr. Kushin has executed hundreds of opinions, valuation, buyside/sellside advisory, financial consulting, and litigation support projects encompassing a wide range of industries. He has advised clients with mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, going-private transactions, spin-offs, recapitalizations, related-party transactions, capital raises, and advisor-led secondary transactions. Mr. Kushin is based in the firm’s New York office.
Valuation reports and supporting analyses have been provided to and relied upon by boards of directors, special committees, boards of trustees, and regulators to facilitate transactions, demonstrate commercial reasonability of debt, support positions of fairness and solvency, and provide guidance to state and federal regulatory agencies.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Kushin was the National Leader of Transaction Opinions at Grant Thornton and the CEO of Grant Thornton Financial Advisors LLC. Before that, he was a leader of the transaction opinions group of Alvarez & Marsal and a Director in the investment banking group of Duff & Phelps. Mr. Kushin began his career at PwC.
Mr. Kushin holds a B.S. in Finance with a minor in Economics from Penn State University, where he graduated with highest distinction and with honors. He is a CFA charterholder.
