Mr. Liang is a Senior Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s Dispute Resolution Consulting practice. He specializes in business valuation, valuation of tangible and intangible assets, damages assessment, financial statement analysis, solvency analysis, and transfer pricing. Mr. Liang’s extensive experience includes addressing economic, financial, and accounting issues in commercial disputes involving M&A, bankruptcy, shareholder matters, investments, joint ventures, taxes, patent infringement, lost profits, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duties. Over the course of his career, he has advised clients in a wide range of industries, including energy, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, financial services, technology, consumer products, education, and entertainment and media. Mr. Liang is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey full-time, Mr. Liang worked for Berkeley Research Group LLC and Compass Lexecon.
Mr. Liang has worked as a valuation and damages expert in both litigation and arbitration matters and has been recognized by Lexology Index (formerly Who’s Who Legal) in its 2025 guide as an arbitration expert witness. He has also provided transaction advisory services and valuation services for fairness opinions as well as tax and financial reporting purposes.
A frequent speaker at law firms and conferences, Mr. Liang regularly presents on damages and valuation issues and conducts workshops on the cross-examination of expert witnesses. He has also served as a guest lecturer for the University of Hong Kong’s Arbitration and Dispute Resolution program.
Mr. Liang holds B.A. degrees in Economics and Business as well as Mathematics from Lafayette College and an M.A. in Finance from Claremont McKenna College. He is a CFA charterholder, CA-licensed CPA, and certified FRM.
