Mr. Martínez-Fidalgo is a Managing Director and Head of Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group in Spain. He divides his time between the firm’s London and Madrid offices.

During the past 16 years at Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Martínez-Fidalgo has advised on a broad range of financial restructuring and distressed engagements globally, working for debtors, creditors, shareholders, and new money providers in both in-court and out-of-court processes. His transaction experience includes Abengoa, Aker Kvaerner, Augusta Technologie, Bodybel, Codere, Concordia Bus, Coop Bank, CELSA Group, Cortefiel, DIA, Dinosol, Eroski, Española del Zinc, Focus DIY, Futura Internacional, General de Alquiler de Maquinaria, Innovation Group, Isolux, JVH Gaming, Luxfer Holdings, Levantina y Asociados de Minerales, Martinsa-Fadesa, Metrovacesa, Ontex, Orizonia, Panrico, Parmalat, Prisa, Renewable Power International, Riofisa, Samos, Sea Containers, Selected Services Partners, Service Point Solutions, Telepizza, Truvo, Vanco, Welcome Break, and 20:20 Mobile. He is currently advising the bondholders of Steinhoff and GCX.

Mr. Martínez-Fidalgo has advised shareholders, debtors, and creditors in formal court processes across multiple jurisdictions, including in Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain (Homologación and Concurso), the United Kingdom (Scheme and CVAs), and the United States (Chapter 11 and 15).

Before joining Houlihan Lokey in 2003, Mr. Martínez-Fidalgo was an Associate in Deutsche Bank’s Financial Institutions Group. He has also worked at Merrill Lynch and Cajastur (now Liberbank).

Mr. Martínez-Fidalgo holds a BBA from University of Oviedo and graduated with honours from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business MBA program. He was named in the Financial News 2011 “40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Investment Banking” and is on the board of Codere (gaming operator across Latam, Spain, and Italy listed in Madrid). Mr. Martínez-Fidalgo speaks fluent Spanish and French, and is conversational in German.
