Mr. Bastian is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey‘s Industrials Group within the Corporate Finance business. He leads the Chemicals practice in Europe, based in Frankfurt.
Mr. Bastian has more than three decades of extensive transaction experience, including M&A advisory, defense and strategic advisory, and capital raising across debt and equity products in Germany, Europe, and the U.S.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Bastian was a Managing Director at Citigroup with senior coverage responsibilities in Germany and Switzerland, including chemicals sector clients, and was previously Head of EMEA Chemicals. Prior to Citigroup, Mr. Bastian led the Chemicals activities in Europe at Credit Suisse London. He also worked for Goldman Sachs in a similar role in London and Frankfurt as well as in the M&A group at Merrill Lynch in New York and in leveraged finance with Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt.
Mr. Bastian holds an MBA from Duke University, North Carolina/USA, and a Diploma in Business Administration from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Frankfurt/Germany.
