Matt Botek

Vice President

Mr. Botek is a Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Services Group, where he focuses on advising clients on M&A and capital-raising activity across the insurance, wealth management, and professional services sectors. Mr. Botek is based in the firm’s Chicago office.

Mr. Botek’s notable transaction experience includes advising NSM Insurance Group on the sale of its U.S. commercial insurance division to New Mountain Capital and Brycer on its strategic investment from TA Associates. His experience prior to joining Houlihan Lokey includes advising TDC Life on its sale to EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, Strategic Risk Solutions on its partnership with Integrum, Patra Corporation on its growth investment from FTV Capital, and Liberty Mutual on its acquisition of State Auto Group.

Previously, Mr. Botek was a Vice President at Waller Helms Advisors, which was acquired by Houlihan Lokey in 2024. Prior to joining Waller Helms, he worked at KeyBank in Cleveland and the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom in London.

Mr. Botek holds a B.B.A. in Finance and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame. He serves on the board of directors for M&T Foundation, a private nonoperating charitable foundation based in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
