Mr. Aarts is
a Director and leader in Houlihan Lokey’s New York Tax and Financial Reporting
Valuation practice. He is responsible for providing valuations and transaction
advice.
Mr. Aarts has
nearly two decades of audit, valuation, transaction, and due diligence
experience. He has valued businesses, equity interests, and intangible assets
in many scenarios, including acquisitions, financing, strategic planning,
corporate restructuring, dispute resolution, as well as for financial reporting
and tax purposes, including purchase price allocations, asset impairments, and
tax reorganizations. He has an expert’s grasp of the concept of fair value in
financial reporting, and he works closely with the Big Four accounting firms to
help Houlihan Lokey continue to be a leader in this area.
Before
joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Aarts was a Director in the Transaction Services
practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. There, he focused on providing
valuation, diligence, and accounting advice to public and private companies.
Mr.
Aarts earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Western
Ontario. He holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst, and he earned
the Chartered Accountant designation in the United Kingdom.
