Mr. Tam is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Private Funds Group. He advises clients on primary fund placement along with equity co-investment syndication. Mr. Tam is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Tam was a Managing Director in the Private Capital Advisory Group at Greenhill & Co., where he helped lead its North American distribution efforts. In this role, he was responsible for managing relationships with and raising institutional capital from sovereign wealth funds, public and corporate pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, family offices, outsourced chief investment offices (OCIOs), wealth advisors, consultants, and fund of funds throughout the U.S. and Canada. Before that, Mr. Tam was a Partner at Mercury Capital Advisors, a spin-out of the Merrill Lynch Private Equity Funds Group, and a Senior Vice President at Brookfield Asset Management. Earlier, he was a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan and a Director at UBS in mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Tam began his investment banking career at Morgan Stanley.
Mr. Tam holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
