Mr. Heyer is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s General Partner Advisory practice, where he focuses on advising alternative asset managers on GP minority and majority stake sales, acquisitions, joint ventures, firm-level financings, product development, succession planning, and NAV loans. He is based in the firm’s New York office.

Mr. Heyer has more than a decade of investment and advisory experience. As a private equity investor, he has partnered with management teams, including founders and family owners in diverse industries, to drive value creation through organic and inorganic initiatives, financing, and transaction execution. 

Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Heyer was a Director in the Europe/Americas private equity strategy at CVC Capital, where he focused on sourcing and executing investments in professional services and business services firms in the United States. Before that, he worked at The Carlyle Group (Carlyle), where he invested across the capital structure on behalf of Carlyle Global Partners, a long-duration private equity strategy. In this capacity, Mr. Heyer served on the board of Content Partners, a media-focused private equity manager and asset owner. In addition to his responsibilities as an investor, he assisted Carlyle’s executive team on major initiatives, including building the Carlyle Global Partners investment team and acquiring two private equity managers on behalf of the Carlyle general partner. Mr. Heyer launched his career in the Media & Telecom investment banking group at Jefferies. 

Mr. Heyer holds two degrees from the University of Pennsylvania: a B.S. in Finance from The Wharton School and another B.S. in Materials Science from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
