Mr. Mercer is a Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group. He has more than a decade of experience in reservoir engineering, operations, and investment banking advisory roles. He is based in the firm's Houston office.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Mercer was a Vice President in Citi’s Global Energy Group. Before that, he was at Occidental Petroleum (Oxy) serving in a variety of A&D, engineering, and operations roles. Mr. Mercer’s technical career began at Oxy, where he focused on drilling, completion, and production operations across its Permian Delaware unconventional assets. His previous technical assignments include conventional waterfloods and enhanced oil recovery projects as well as unconventional development across most active shale plays in the Lower 48.
Mr. Mercer holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.
