Mr. Kataruka is a member of Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group. He is based in the firm’s Singapore office.
Since joining the firm in 2014, he has advised companies, creditors, and other stakeholders on a broad range of complex restructuring and special situations transactions across Asia-Pacific and internationally, spanning multiple industries and jurisdictions. Mr. Kataruka’s disclosable transaction experience includes China Fishery Group, Global A&T Electronics, KrisEnergy, Pacific International Lines, and Pearl Holdings in Singapore; Noble Group in Hong Kong; Malaysia Airlines in Malaysia; Rolta and Suzlon Energy in India; Bakrie & Brothers, Berau Coal, Bumi Resources, and Garuda Indonesia in Indonesia; China Shanshui Cement, Hilong Holding, Shimao Group, Times China, and Winsway in China; Paladin Energy in Australia; Oro Negro in Mexico; and The LYCRA Company in the United States.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Kataruka worked at Abacus Capital, a boutique corporate finance advisory firm focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets advisory for corporates across Southeast Asia.
Mr. Kataruka graduated magna cum laude from Singapore Management University with a double degree in Business Management and Economics. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst charter in July 2016.
