Mr. Hotz is Chairman of Corporate Finance at Houlihan Lokey and a member of the Management Committee. He is based in the firm’s Miami office.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey in 2002, Mr. Hotz was Senior Vice Chairman of UBS and Head of Corporate Finance for the Americas. He joined the predecessor firm of UBS—Dillon, Read & Co. Inc.—in 1991 as Co-Head of the Corporate Finance Department and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee and board of directors. Before joining Dillon Read, he was Head of the Corporate Finance Department at Smith Barney (since 1982) and a member of that firm’s Executive Committee and board of directors, where he worked for 22 years.
Mr. Hotz formerly served on the board of directors of Universal Health Services, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange-listed company, until March 2020. Prior to its acquisition by Icahn Enterprises in February 2016, he was also Chairman of the Board of Pep Boys. Previously, he served on the board of directors of Mikasa, Inc. and MedImmune, Inc., both public companies that were acquired.
Mr. Hotz is a graduate of Rutgers University and received his MBA from Cornell University.
