Mr. Tanaka is a Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s Industrials Group. Since joining the firm as a new graduate, he has been consistently engaged in advising both cross-border and domestic M&A transactions. Mr. Tanaka has a particularly strong track record in sellside transactions, including corporate carve-outs and PE exits. He is based in the firm’s Tokyo office.
Previously, Mr. Tanaka worked at GCA Corporation, which he joined in 2018, and which was acquired by Houlihan Lokey in 2021. His notable major transactions include advisory to Aspirant Group on its sale of Dipsol Chemicals to Quaker Houghton, Daiwabo Holdings on its sale of Daiwabo (textile business) to Aspirant Group, Next Capital on its sale of Marui Industrial to Ichinen Holdings, JSR on the sale of its elastomer business to ENEOS, Showa Denko Materials (now Resonac) on its sale of ISOLITE to Certina Group, Nichirei Logistics Group on its acquisition of Norish PLC’s temperature-controlled logistics business, and NEC on its acquisition of OncoImmunity.
Mr. Tanaka holds a B.A. in Law from the University of Tokyo.
