Mr. Karnik is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Industrials Group, focusing on industrial technology. His coverage of industrial technology companies in the mid-cap spans over two decades, with current coverage focus on automation and robotics; industrial informatics and infratech; and water technologies and solutions. Mr. Karnik is based in the firm’s New York office.
During his career, Mr. Karnik has advised both public and private companies on a broad range of transactions, including sellside and buyside M&A, corporate divestitures, joint ventures, and growth equity private placements for both institutionally owned and founder-family-led companies. His noteworthy clients include Seegrid Robotics, Systems Solutions of Kentucky, Sharper Shape, RedZone Robotics, Bell & Howell, Saur Group, and EnviroTech.
Prior to rejoining Houlihan Lokey in 2022, Mr. Karnik was Co-Head of the Industrial Technology Group at Capstone Partners. Earlier, he was Vice President at Duff & Phelps and Houlihan Lokey.
Mr. Karnik serves on the Board of Sharper Shape, a leader in automated inspection and analysis for the powerline industry, and on the Board of Aqua Membrane, which is marketing 3D printed membrane technology. He also supports Vanarai, whose mission is to increase access to agriculture water and biodiversity for rural, water-starved, and impoverished villages in India
