Mr. Deen is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group and is part of the firm’s Special Situations and Real Estate team, covering the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey. He has more than two decades of experience in the financial industry. Mr. Deen is based in the firm’s Dubai office.
Mr. Deen has extensive experience advising on complex restructurings and financings across a broad range of sectors, with a particular focus on real estate and special situations. He has been actively involved in executing mandates focused on funding real estate developers through alternative capital solutions. Mr. Deen’s experience includes a number of transactions in the region, including Saudi Binladin Group, Azizi, Union Properties, and Shapoorji Pallonji Group.
Mr. Deen began his career at J.P. Morgan in New York, where he spent 13 years across multiple areas of the bank, including the distressed trading desk, leveraged finance, and M&A. As part of the distressed trading desk, he led the Middle East effort, investing in a number of distressed opportunities in the region. Mr. Deen subsequently worked at CarVal and Spire Partners, focusing on par and distressed investment opportunities across Europe and the Middle East. He later joined BNP Paribas as a Senior Credit Analyst, focusing on European investment opportunities, before moving to NatWest Markets as a Director in the Special Situations Group, where he was responsible for managing corporate credit investments in the U.K. and Western Europe. Mr. Deen joined Houlihan Lokey’s Dubai office in 2020.
