Mr. Palekar is a Senior Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s Portfolio Valuation and Fund Advisory Services practice. He has experience managing, coordinating, and executing client engagements for valuing illiquid assets (e.g., common equity, debt, convertible debt, preferred equity, options, warrants, derivatives) held by private equity, hedge funds, and asset managers. Mr. Palekar is based in the firm’s Mumbai office.
Mr. Palekar has more than a decade of experience in valuation, financial advisory services, and accounting consultancy. He specializes in high-growth equity valuations, having worked with multiple venture capital and hedge funds. Over the years, Mr. Palekar has worked for a variety of engagements for a host of industries, including e-commerce, financial services, healthcare, power, real estate, retail, and telecom.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Palekar spent more than six years at Kroll (previously Duff & Phelps) as a Director in its Portfolio Valuations team performing periodic valuations for global, as well as India-based, private equity and venture capital funds. He also worked as an Assistant Manager with Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu, where he mainly worked on corporate business valuations for companies based in Canada and the U.K.
Mr. Palekar is a qualified ACA and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also a CFA charterholder.
