Mr. Kirkby is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s European Financial Services and Technology team, which operates as part of the global FinTech Group. He is responsible for advisory services to the banking and lending sector across the EMEA region. Mr. Kirkby is based in the firm’s London office.
Mr. Kirkby’s transaction experience includes landmark M&A (both public and private) and capital markets transactions across multiple sectors and jurisdictions over many years. This deep transaction experience has been developed through both advisory roles and internal corporate development/M&A leadership roles throughout his career.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Kirkby was Group Director of Corporate Development at Bupa, with a range of responsibilities, including M&A and portfolio/capital management. Before that, he spent a number of years as Head of Corporate Development and M&A at NatWest Group, formerly the RBS Group, where he played a leading role in the significant multi-year divestiture programme undertaken by the bank post the global financial crisis, as well as various acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and internal restructures. Before joining NatWest, Mr. Kirkby was at Credit Suisse in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG), in various roles over time, including Head of EMEA FIG M&A based in London and Head of Americas FIG M&A based in New York. Mr. Kirkby began his investment banking career in Australia.
Mr. Kirkby holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney.
