Mr. Gluckstein is a Managing Director at Houlihan Lokey with more than two decades of investment banking and corporate finance experience encompassing mergers, acquisitions, disposals, and fundraisings for a wide range of UK and international clients (both public and unquoted), entrepreneurs, and private equity firms. He is based in the firm's London office.
Mr. Gluckstein was a Managing Director with Quayle Munro prior to its acquisition by Houlihan Lokey in 2018. He joined Quayle Munro in 2013 from Canaccord Genuity (formerly Hawkpoint Partners), where, for his last three years there, he was Head of UK. During his eight years with Canaccord/Hawkpoint, Mr. Gluckstein established and headed market-leading financial advisory franchises in media and education. Prior to joining Hawkpoint, he worked at Rothschild and Schroders (latterly Citi).
In education, his experience covers all major education subsectors, from higher education and schools to vocational and professional training. He has acted on some of the largest education transactions in the UK, including the disposals of BPP (to Apollo Global), The College of Law (to Montagu Private Equity), GL Education Group (to Investcorp), Hotcourses (to IDP), and Melorio (to Pearson), as well as the acquisitions of The University of Law and Arden University (by Global University Systems), MPW (by Kaplan/Graham Holdings), Impero Software (by Investcorp), and Lifetime Training (by Silverfleet Capital), and the recent investment by TA Associates in Inspired.
In media, Mr. Gluckstein’s experience covers a breadth of subsectors and industries ranging from consumer and business publishing to television and radio, outdoor, cinema, and marketing services. Mr. Gluckstein’s notable media transactions prior to joining Houlihan Lokey include the disposals of Mergermarket (to Pearson), Chrysalis Radio (to Global Radio), Research Now (to e-Rewards), TV3 (to Doughty Hanson and subsequently to Liberty Global), and Odeon (to Terra Firma), as well as the acquisitions of Hodder Headline (for Lagardère), Guardian Radio (for Global Radio), and Score Press (for Johnston Press). Other major media companies with which he has worked include Axel Springer, Vivendi, ITV, EMAP, and EMI.
Mr. Gluckstein holds an MA in Classics from Oxford University.
