Managing Director

Mr. Shaw is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Consumer Group and leads its practice for out-of-home entertainment and out-of-home advertising. In the out-of-home entertainment space, his market-leading position focuses on family entertainment centers, location-based entertainment, live entertainment, amusement/water parks, adventure travel/cruises, music festivals, and events/conferences, among other verticals. Mr. Shaw has significant experience with M&A, restructuring, and capital-raising transactions across these industries. He is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
 
Some of Mr. Shaw's recent and notable transactions include the sale of World Choice Investments (dba Dolly Parton’s Stampede & Pirates Voyage) to ZMC; the sale of Five Star Parks & Attractions to Court Square Capital Partners; the sale of Lucky Strike Entertainment to Bowlero Corp.; the equity investment in The Gersh Agency from Crestview Partners; the sale of Mesmerize Media to MJH Life Sciences, a portfolio company of BDT & MSD Partners; the sale of Family Entertainment Group to HIG Capital; the sale of The Second City to ZMC; the sale of ID&T to Superstruct Entertainment, a portfolio company of Providence Equity; the sale of Remedy Health Media to Amulet Capital Partners; the sale of VStar Entertainment to Cirque du Soleil, a portfolio company of TPG Capital; the sale of Alpha Entertainment (the XFL) to RedBird Capital and The Garcia Companies; the sale of Lightbox OOH Video Network to Cattri; the sale of Pink Jeep Tours to Herschend Family Entertainment; the sale of The Professional Bowlers Association to Bowlero Corp.; the sale of Sports Illustrated Play to Comcast Corp.; and the sale of PlayNetwork to TouchTunes Interactive Networks, a portfolio company of Searchlight Capital Partners. He has also completed a number of restructuring transactions involving such companies as Cirque du Soleil, CEC Entertainment (Chuck E. Cheese), Outcome Health, Production Resource Group, CORE Media Group (nka Industrial Media), and SFX Entertainment (nka LiveStyle).
 
Previously, Mr. Shaw worked on the Mergers & Acquisitions team at RBC Capital Markets and in the Restructuring group at The Seaport Group. He began his career at Millennium Partners within U.S. Equities. Mr. Shaw is presently a member of the Board of Trustees of The John Austin Cheley Foundation (dba A Thousand Summers).
 
Mr. Shaw graduated cum laude with a B.A. from Gettysburg College and holds an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
