Mr. Kim is a Senior Vice President in the Real Estate Valuation and Advisory Services practice within Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory business. He has nearly two decades of experience providing real estate valuation, consulting, and advisory services throughout the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Kim is based in the firm’s Atlanta office.
Over the course of his professional career, Mr. Kim has led numerous engagements pertaining to complex real estate projects on behalf of family offices, pension funds, investment advisors, corporations, financial institutions, REITs, and private equity funds on various property types, including hotels, resorts, development land, apartments, office, self-storage, industrial, and shopping center facilities.
Mr. Kim has extensive experience in providing real estate valuation and consulting services for estate and gift tax, corporate mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, portfolio management, and various types of financial reporting, including purchase price allocation (ASC 805), fair value measurement (ASC 820), and impairment testing (ASC 350, 360).
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Kim was a Director in the Valuation & Business Analytics practice of BDO based in Atlanta, focusing on commercial real estate valuation. Before joining BDO, he served in management roles at various companies, including KPMG, Prudential, Deloitte, and CBRE.
Mr. Kim holds a B.B.A. from Bernard M. Baruch College and an M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University. He is a Designated Member (MAI) of the Appraisal Institute and a Certified General Appraiser in 11 states, including Georgia, Florida, Texas, and New York.
