Ms. Shapiro is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Sponsors Group and has 20+ years of experience in restructuring, leveraged and distressed credit investing, and corporate finance. She is based in the firm’s New York office.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Ms. Shapiro was a Senior Managing Director at Ankura Consulting Group. Before that, she was a Senior Research Analyst at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and at Onex Credit Partners. In these roles, Ms. Shapiro managed leveraged loan and high yield investments across mutual fund, opportunistic, direct lending, collateralized loan obligation, and managed account strategies. She has been involved with transactions in various industries, including food and beverage, retail, consumer, business services, industrials, building products, and insurance. Ms. Shapiro spent more than nine years at Deutsche Bank, where she held leadership roles in both the Restructuring Finance and Workout and Financial Institutions groups.
Ms. Shapiro holds a B.A. in Economics from Colgate University and an M.S. in Accounting from the University of Hartford. She is a CFA charterholder and a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.
