Mr. Hardie is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group. Since joining the firm, he has managed numerous debtor- and creditor-side restructuring assignments involving businesses in various industries, including the energy, gaming, cable operators, and general industrial sectors.
Mr. Hardie’s notable publicly disclosed assignments include: AEI Resources Holding Inc.; Allegheny Energy Supply; Adelphia Communications Corp. (Frontiervision); ANP Funding I, LLC; Anthony Crane Rental, LP; Bally Total Fitness Holding Corp.; Calpine Corp.; Classic Cable, Inc.; Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc.; Danka Business Systems, PLC; Enron Corp.; GeoEye, Inc. (f/k/a ORBIMAGE); Grove Worldwide, LLC; Haights Cross Communications; Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc.; JCC Holding Co.(Harrah’s Jazz); Lionel, LLC; Maxim Cranes; Mirant Corp.; Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority; National Energy & Gas Transmission, Inc. Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Hardie was Executive Vice President at Marvel Enterprises, Inc., where he led that company’s efforts to acquire Marvel Entertainment Group out of Chapter 11, including arranging over $750 million in financings, managing the divestiture of several non-core businesses, managing the company’s domestic and international licensing activities (motion picture, television, clothing, character statues, games, etc.), and serving as general counsel.
Prior to that, Mr. Hardie was Executive Vice President of Fleer/SkyBox International LP, a $200 million trading card and confectionery subsidiary of MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings Inc., where he had general management responsibility for the company’s sales and marketing operations as well as served as the company’s general counsel. Mr. Hardie also practiced law as an Associate for Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts in New York and Jones Walker in New Orleans, where he specialized in corporate and securities law and was involved in numerous public and private debt and equity securities offerings, asset-based financing transactions, and domestic and international acquisitions.
Mr. Hardie holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Alabama and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University, where he was the Managing Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review.
