Mr. Cheng is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory business. He specializes in advising a diverse base of alternative asset investors, including hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, business development companies, limited partner investors, and corporations, on valuing illiquid securities throughout the capital structure. Mr. Cheng is based in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Cheng was an Investment Analyst at Acion Partners and Point72 Asset Management, where he focused on making public equity investments in the U.S. and Asia based on a fundamental long/short strategy. Prior to that, he was an Associate at Saybrook Capital, where he specialized in distressed debt, special situations, and private equity investments in middle-market companies in the U.S. Mr. Cheng also worked as a Senior Analyst in the Corporate Strategy and Business Development group at The Walt Disney Company, where he evaluated M&A opportunities, organic growth investments, and strategic initiatives across all lines of business. He started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he focused on specialty finance and financial technology clients.
Mr. Cheng holds a B.A. in Economics from Princeton University.
