Quo Vadis HIS?

While the market for Hospital Information Systems (HIS), particularly in Germany, has historically been rather conservative and stable, there are now exciting times ahead:

• The past two years have seen a number of M&A deals that are likely to change the competitive landscape over the coming years
• Adding to the dynamics, two prominent providers have announced their intent to exit this market segment
• Next-generation HIS solutions will need to address new requirements in terms of interoperability with other HIS solutions as well as electronic patient records
