Our History

Houlihan Lokey was established in 1972 in Los Angeles, California, initially as a general advisory practice for private businesses. Our investment banking business came into being in 1986. In the years that followed, our success in M&A, financial restructuring, and other related disciplines led us to open several new offices across the Americas.

Much has changed since then. While we maintain a strong presence in the Americas, with offices in 13 cities, we are now a diverse, multinational business with extensive operations across Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region.
